What does it mean? – open to your interpretation…. I can think of a few things right off the bat it could mean, of course none of them positive…

applied chains, tatoos, rings via Powerpoint clipart – changed sizes, angles and blended in.
used ipiccy to apply textures, lighten hues, clone image.

what did it mean to me when I created it?

1] young people today are doing piercings like crazy in their foreheads, lips, tongue, finger – my sister’s foster daughter makes me cringe when she talks to me because of the piercings on her face. So to me, they apparently think it is beautiful, and it is obviously painful to go through and continues to be painful. she has one in her finger that is infected.

2] some people, like Michael Jackson God rest his soul and Joan Rivers are chained to the idea that they need plastic surgery constantly to be beautiful. and that is extremely painful and becomes painful for us to look at them.

3] young women are particularly chained to the idea of what beauty is and never see their beauty, they often keep trying to attain it, when it is actually who they are or standing right behind them.
