I’m a visual artist who works in acrylics, oils and watercolours. My work explores a surreal figurative portraiture & illustration that is defined by esoteric symbols, flat landscapes, acidic dream worlds and melting twilight realms. A fantasy artist at heart, I’m influenced by faery tales, incense, alchemy, and unicorn zombies.

Most of the time, I work on canvas using oil, acrylic, various resins, glitter, and whatever else takes my fancy. Acrylics always feel like ‘home’ to me though. I like challenging the plastic nature of the medium, and using it in a way that people don’t expect. I love painting flesh. I am also drawn to earthy tones, and smashing them up against bright hues.

I like faeries and religious icons and glitter and pop culture and alchemy, so these things tend to appear in my work. The artists I most admire are the ones who were loathed by the critics of their time. Norman Lindsay, Rosaleen Norton, Manet, Austin Osman Spare and many, many of my contemporaries inspire me. Music closely informs my work.
