The Magic Clay Part 1

Little Joe was just seven years old, A beautifully
bright and cheery child. Joy shown upon his face
and against this nestled golden curls. His eyes
were of the deepest blue and filled most often
with warm smiles.

Today was different for Joe though , he was
feeling alone and very sad, he and his mother
had just moved a new house and town. He wished and
he wished that they could return and be back home,

The weather did not help his mood for it was
cold and stormy day and the rain kept
pouring down , hours and hours went by
and He began to wonder if the sun would ever
return or shine again.

“Not a toy in the house” Joe said sadly
with a tear in his eye, his life, he believed to
be still packed up and gone in boxes, that
they had not unpacked from their move.

Joe sat in his room agitated and bored,
he just lied there…wishing to be outside
anywhere else for that matter and lied staring,
staring at those blank walls, for what seemed
a lifetime…

His mother came in from work very excited and
announced that she had stopped and picked
him up a gift.” A gift?” said Joe. he looked
intensely for there in her arms was a small
brown paper bag…

He thought for a moment and then ran to
giving her a hug She smiled and the love
was shown in her eyes. Joe clung to her a
moment and at this point in time, She was his
whole world, his safe place. All they had to
hold onto was one another.

He smiled and grabbed the bag in excitement
and took off running to his room, trying
desperately to imagine what it could be.

He slowly pulled the box out of the bag it was
small box with letters on the top and slowly
read the words to himself “CLAY” “hmm”? he
wondered and began unwrapping the package….

Opening the box, and peeling off the wrapper
Joe held the off white bars, he felt the texture,
He began to push downon the bars in his hand
and found that they moved.

He watched amazed and in awe and found
that depending upon the way he whittled it or
when applying pressure he could change
shift the clay into many different forms
and shapes.

He began to think and to imagine all the
things he could create thoughts of objects
and toys filled his mind ,but little did
Joe know that by opening his mind, and in
using his imagination magical doors to his
own adventure would begin….
