Artist's Description

Captured with a Canon EOS 700D; 1/250s; f/5.6; 55mm; ISO200. Sunny breezy day, hand held, lying on the ground with difficulty!!
Edited in Light Room, exported to Photoshop cs5 for workflow, Topaz Details, Topaz Restyle.
This plant is a native of Southern England, Pale Flax (Linum bienne). It grows in dry grassy places, mainly by the sea. It likes south facing slopes. The 5 petals are very pale blue with purple veins; with 5 white styles and anthers of bright blue and a club-shaped stigma they are beautiful delicate little blooms of no more than 2cms in diameter.
These were captured in the wild flower meadows on the cliffs near Durlston Castle, Swanage, Dorset where they are in flower in abundance. They remain me of stars, hence the title.
