Artist's Description

As many artists know, stencils and masks can be very expensive… especially if you want designs that are unique and match your own personal style. Even making your own can get costly, if you want odd sizes and/or have to buy blank stencil/mask material and burning tools.

The way I get around the expense is to make my own out of 100lb Bristol and duct tape (clear). Whenever I make a stencil, I automatically get a matching mask… Talk about efficiency!

I share this with you in hopes that you will give custom stencils a try next time you need to add texture to your mixed media work using stencils and don’t want to spend money on the expensive ones.
