Local police and HAZMAT were on the scene of a recent incident in Claremont, California. A man was hit by the commuter train. It is unknown if it was a suicide.

I drove through town and spied the scene ahead and found my way to the parking structure adjacent to the tracks and almost directly above the accident location.

The train had moved on. The body had already been removed by the time I got there. Another HAZMAT vehicle was hosing down blood about 100 feet away.

What expression you can see on the Officer’s face is enough. Some days it’s grim work, indeed.
