Melinda is a Wollongong-based artist, who has been drawing and painting people in various forms for as long as she remembers. The inspiration for her portraits come from humans she meets in real life and strange faces she sees in her mind just before falling asleep. She utilises the constraints of singular line and blind drawing to create unexpected faces and to ward off meticulousness and perfectionism. She sees her art as an exercise in embracing uncertainty - a good thing for her sanity.
