Almeida Coval

I was born in the north of Portugal in the locality of Coval, in the district of Viseu. My mother was of mediterranean origin and my father’s descent hailed from northern Europe.
My studio is situated in Sintra, and I draw inspiration from this wonderous place which I call ‘Paradise on Earth’.

My art, my work, consists in what I am and the meaning life has for me. My work is my way of living and my goal and the special place I live now gives me the inspiration needed for the internal dialogue every artist is supposed to have to himself in an intensive way, delving into his values seeking to express what for me is the Good and Beauty life is made of. I have chosen to live in Sintra, this small and beautiful medieval village between the intensity of the sea and the enchantment of the mountains, where I can breathe this atmosphere of tranquility that expands my thinking and emotions.
It is this deep sense of hope and well-being that drives my all daily life, which highlights and traces my path and my dreams and to share it in my paintings turned out to be the most important thing to me.
