My Heroes have Always been Heretics

My heroes have always been heretics
In boisterous revel driven
In their passion and their zeal
Sacrificing the popular in the quest for what is real

Seeing God in wide eyed wonder
where only dreamers dare slumber long
employing freedom
where only chains abound

every ready to be mistaken
as they arise above the quid pro quo
soaring with the unbridled truth
as far as it will go.

Seeking God’s glory
As all hindrances they impale
And finally ceasing victory
Where all others seem to fail

My Heroes have Always been Heretics

Artist's Description

I think that Heretics are most often seen in a negative light. but if you look up heretic in the dictionary here is what it means: HERETIC; anyone who does not conform to an established attitude, doctrine, or principle. I don’t see that as a negative thing, I think that God gives us not only permission to question and doubt, but I believe he welcomes all sincere and honest doubt and questions. I further believe that he uses these very things to display not only his power, but is love for us. Heretics may be a necessary element in the world, and many great men and women have been labeled such…the greatest of these Jesus. Think about it…
