I heard someone talking about the ‘Glorious Twelfth’ the other day on tv. For those unfamiliar with the term it denotes the beginning of the shooting season when game birds are allowed to be shot. I took these images of pheasants in Yorkshire and so I thought a poster to warn them might be in order.
Our friend Alan Mattison reliably informs me that the pheasant shooting season begins on 1st October, so they can relax for a little longer, it is the poor grouse who need to hide on 12th August.
