We spent a wonderful two week holiday in Africa, my dream holiday and it more than lived up to expectations. It is just the most amazing place. This image was taken along the banks of the Chobe River, Botswana whilst on an evening river safari. There is an Island in the middle of the river to which elephants cross to feed on the lush grass. On this particular evening this advance party came down and then another and another until there were, perhaps 200 elephants gathered. Our guides said that it was the most they had ever seen at one time and, just as we were about to move off down river, they started to cross in front of us. How lucky and privileged were we. Sadly by then it was too dark for my little Nikon 8800 but it was imprinted on my brain. If I ever learn to paint I will paint it.
