Blindness

I can hear the whistle of the wind rustling through the tree,
I can feel the soft wet sand beneath my feet,
I can smell the scented flowers in spring,
I can hear the birds sing melodies in the morning,
I can touch your face and know you are there.
But I can’t seem to escape this darkness in which I live everyday of my life.
Oh why is it that I can not see the surrounds that are around me.
Maybe it’s just meant to be this way.
Being blind blind isn’t so bad when I’ve got you by my side.
Thanks to you I have eyes.
