Allison Shaw

Born in England in 1941 she has been painting full time in Australia since 1970
With her husband, artist Geoff McKenzie, she has travelled and painted around Australia and now lives on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast. They continue their travels every year to find new subject matter and inspiration.

Allison has always been inspired by the gentler side of the Australian landscape and her unique talent lies in capturing the essence and mystery of the bush on a misty morning or the shimmering reflections in a hidden waterhole. Her soft, delicate oils have a universal appeal, resulting in many successful exhibitions in Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland.
More recently she has ventured further into the outback as well as to the Kimberley and Top End and been captivated by the drama and incredibly rich colours of these remote areas. This has resulted in a whole new series of vibrant and evocative paintings. A love of snorkelling and diving also brought forth a colourful Great Barrier Reef – Coral Gardens series.
Allison’s works may be found in collections throughout Australia and New Zealand as well as U.S.A., Canada, U.K, Europe, Japan and Hong Kong.
