This Moment Shall Pass

Floating down
Beneath silken depths
Enveloped in a chrysalis
Of liquid indifference

Reflected blue skies
Cloak me in the
Colour of despair
In silence, I let it hold me

Red dahlia’s follow
In graceful arcs
Petals slowly detaching
Dancing to the melody
Of crimson memories

In this moment
The cold seems warm
And strangely comforting
I could sleep forever
In her depths

Refracted rays of sunlight
Filter down and call my name
This moment shall pass
And I shall rise
From blue depths again

Artist's Description

10th of September is World Suicide Prevention Day. This piece is a very personal one and deals with my own personal struggles with a chronic pain condition and a mental illness. I am lucky. I have people around me who are supportive and understanding. This is not true of everyone though.
It is important for those who feel alone to know that so many others have been where they are right now and truly do understand.
Reach out for help.
You are not alone.
And it does get better.
