Artist's Description

The Palsangjeon at Beopju Temple in Beoun County, North Chungcheong Province, Republic of South Korea. The Palsangjeong is a 5-story wooden pagoda, now the last of its kind and the tallest pagoda in Korea. It enshrines the eight aspect pictures, depicting the life of Buddha. It was erected in 553 during the reign of King Jinheung, burnt down by Japanese in 1592, and rebuilt in 1626.
