Artist's Description

Last week I visited Virginia Woolf’s house in Rodmell, Sussex (UK), a great moment for me as I have been interested in her since I was 14, when I discovered her books. I have more or less read everything by her and also written several essays about her work and always wanted to see her house where all her wonderful prose was thought and written. The house itself is very beautiful, but it was the garden which amazed me most: apart from the little house where she used to write, there is a big orchard, there are ponds and lawns and behind a stone wall a vast area is just reserved for playing boules.
The house is managed by the National Trust and is open to the public during the summer months.

(This lovely shed is about 100 years old.)
