illiterate computer user bumps onto a red bubble

Confession: I’m computer illiterate. All I know how to do is: register in Yahoo! and open my inbox, read my mail, type replies, or go to Flickr. And I don’t even have images to upload because I don’t have this thingamajig they call a camera. So why even register you might ask? Well I love everything about photography.

I used to have that thingamajig for taking pictures but thieves broke into my house when I went to the province. Okay, you’re right, I was a fool not to bring my thingamajig along. But my bags were already full and I thought I’d stay for only a week, or a month. It turned out I would get stranded and strayed for a year and a half! Yup, you read right. But I don’t think I would have made pictures worth ten housand words. Or a thousand. Maybe one: shit!

My thingamajig got stolen sometime in 2002, or was that 2003? Heck it seems I also lost part of my memory. Anyway, I notied I was no longer taking good pictures. They were more like lazy photos a rank amateur and snap shooter would take. Even way back 85, I already noticed i was losing whatever skills I had as an advanced amateur (my ranking), so maybe losing the thingamajig might be good eventually. Hopefully. I wish it brings back some of the magic I think I had. I certainly hope it’s like riding a bike sort of where one doesn’t really forget.

But maybe my being an art director, and artist (working on abstract markings with soft pastel and doing collages, installation and conceptual art), I might be able to get something decent at least. But the problem is I still don’t have a thingamajig. I could borrow one though so I’ll have something to upload and join the contest and hopefully go home with the bacon…er, the thingamajig…er, the Leica. Whoa. I’m drooling already. Drooling while dreaming.

Here’s hoping when that bubble bursts, it’s got that thingamajig inside.
