Artist's Description

This artwork is derived from a photograph taken April 23/12 in Cuenca, Ecuador, South America nestled in the Andes Mountains. There is a beautiful park south of El Centro called Parque De La Madre, across the Rio Tomebamba that has a walking track etc. The city is in the process of renovating the park totally, including installing an underground parking garage at the south end. Initially they put up plywood hoarding around the whole park which was quickly covered in graffiti, but none as striking as this work of art. I was fascinated with it.
A month later, all this graffiti was painted over (so this magnificent work is never to be seen again) so that contracted graffiti artists could do some proper artwork all around the park. I am so thankful that I had the foresight to grab a photo when I did
