Artist's Description

Our third trip in November 2013 through the Ecuadorian Andes was to try to see the erupting Tungurahua volcano near Banos-Ambato and then continue to Quito and Mindo. Tungurahua has been active again since 1999 and seems to huff and puff about every 6 weeks, sometimes causing evacuations of nearby towns.
This day, again, Tungurahua was sleeping, with an immovable halo of cloud at the summit, despite the high winds at this elevation.
