The Dance

In my dreams I saw her – mythical
A Goddess of wishful visions.
Satin locks, honey in the sun,
Skin soft, fair eyes a mirage of blues.

We met, my Queen of illusions past,
A wish comes true.
Her presence mystified my senses,
Captivated by her light.

Love, pleasure, joy so
Mortifies the soul bringing cruelty and pain.
I stood before her humble, small.
Doubts, fears now my friends.

I seized my sanity as music filled the air.
“Dance with me,” I pleaded, “be my partner.”
She held me tight we waltzed into the night
Embracing together for the rest of our Life.

We shared sorrows, hardships we met,
Comfort in a touch, love in the eyes.
I remember all these during my despair
As we became kindred, one heart shared.

My beloved Queen, I held again that night.
Tight to me, her tears became mine,
We collected the memories of our time.
In my arms, embraced, my heart was hers.

As we danced the night away……
