Artist's Description

A small rockwall in the Derwent creates this flow, with the green of the wood on the opposite bank reflected.

This was a difficult shot to get, with all sorts of compromises. I was balanced precariously on a steep bank, using my tripod as a monopod, and trying to get as much depth of field as I could reasonably get, while keeping the motion blur to a minimum. In the end, I opened the lens right up, believing that a faster shutter would at least have some part of the image sharp, as opposed to a good DOF but blurred because my footing was so unsteady.

Canon EOS50, EF 28-200mm @ ~50mm, F4.0, AE aperture priority, Fuji Reala 100
