Artist's Description

The ships, just discernible on the horizon, are queuing to go into the Port of Newcastle to load coal. Newcastle, on the coast of New South Wales, is the largest coal export facility in the world, exporting over 80 million tonnes of coal each year. (I guess this is not such a good thing these days.) At any time, there can be over 50 ships waiting their turn to go in and load up. They are a definite, familiar, feature of the horizon around here.
