Perspectives from the ordinary

“Shit!”
“What’s the matter? Whajado?”
“Cracked my head on the door. There’s all this crap behind it. It won’t open all the way”
“I’m sorry, That’s my fault. Here let me clear it”
“It’s not your fault! It’s just you not thinking or looking”
“I came home to a nice cosy fire, thank you for that”
“Hm”
“Where did you hit your head? On your cheek?”
“No. Just above the eye”
“Does it hurt?”
“I can feel it”
“Yes the house was lovely and warm and as I walked up the street I could see the flames flickering through the shades. It looked wonderful. Almost fairy tale like”
“Uh Huh. I was a little worried when I left..you know it was really hot and kind of scary in a way”
“Ah. You did a good job though”
“I needn’t have put those two logs on though, I think one would have been enough”
“Oh well, we learn something there”
“Yeah, like paying attention to what you’re doing”
" I had a great time, thanks for asking, the trainer was exceptional. I learned so much. You know it’s really kind of freeing when one can learn something new"
“Oh, I know. Just get out of the box”
“Perhaps you could learn a new expression for that?”
“Well I’ll tell you, when I loaded up the stove and left this evening I was fearful. I drove around the block wondering if I’d closed the wood stove door correctly, if I’d moved everything far enough away from the heat, had I taken the kettle off the top and if the cat would be okay. It was one of those moments that people describe that keeps them constantly returning to check everything.”
“Wow! Did you come back?”
“Nah!! I just kept going and pushed those thoughts to the back of my mind, thinking that they would haunt me all during the meeting”
“Did they?”
“Can’t really say. I was the only one there, nobody else showed up”
“So it was a waste of your time then?”
“No, not really I experienced those moments of doubt and worry. I don’t usually get to have them. So that was new for me”
“You always manage to come up with something. How do you do it?”
“I’m a capitalist, just not in a financial sense. I try to capitalize
in my Being”
