Artist's Description

This picture was taken on November, 4th of last year, beside a dirt road near Rose Valley Lake, in north central Pennsylvania.

The White Yarrow (Achillea millefolium) wildflower is also know as Bloodwort, Carpenter’s Weed, Milfoil and Plumajillo.

This is a very invasive plant that is commonly found in open fields and along roadsides, throughout nearly all of the North American states and provinces. It was originally found in Europe, but was brought to the Americas for its perceived medicinal properties.

The photo was taken with my Canon EOS D30 camera with a 50mm Compact Macro close-up lens.
