Night falls upon the Woods

There’s a place in the woods, we went when you were young. Maybe you remember the path through the trees, perhaps you recall the leaves and the breeze. Wind blew through your hair, as you laughed. When you ran, I called your name. Splendidly and gently the sunset and nightime came. When night fell, we’d go to the house to be near light to feel safe. Did you ever wonder what happens late in the woods at night? As moonlight passes through branches of oak, our animal friends come out of hiding. Thick mist settles like smoke while the raven, eagle and sparrow return from flight. If we were there we might see the woodchuck, perhaps a deer or blackbear if we had any luck. A beautiful, magical moonlit site to see. Nighttime in the woods is a thrilling place to be.
