Artist's Description

Inspired by the Aegis with the head of Sekhmet in the Walters Art Museum (57.540) I was going for a bold, simple, graphic design in this piece, and sparing on details that might distract from the simplicity and power of this ancient amulet.

The Aegis consists of the head of the lion goddess Sekhmet, a sun disc with ureaus (cobra) and a broad collar (wesekh)
These model collars are often shown held by a goddess such as Bast and represent protective powers.

Hand drawn in Affinity Designer 2018.
