Artist's Description

Birds were a common motif in the art of South America these are based on traditional motifs from pottery, textiles and sculptures and the colours are based on semi precious stones and metals used in traditional jewellery. Birds represent the upper level of the Inca universe, with the middle being represented by cats and the lower being represented by reptiles.
