Since the end of May 2010 I’ve been taking a daily photo for my blipfoto journal , concentrating primarily on detailed closeup scenes in the woods of Inverawe in Scotland using a uniform black and white style.
I’ve made a photo-blog of the best photos from each month, updated monthly; and recently I published a book: No Light: Life in the Forest , a hand-picked selection of the best fitting into categories of landscape, environment, trees, shape and form, and more.
Come have a look by all means (and buy the book, too!)
Yesterday someone (I know not who) recently bought a print of my photo, Loch Rannoch and Schiehallion, black and white . I think that’s the first real sale out of the blue off RedBubble directly (not led off my own website) – so thanks, that’s my day made, whoever you are :)
Well, I’ve got my cards. Well impressed with the print quality from redbubble. The card itself is decent thick stuff, far better than any Hallmark crud you’d get in the shops here.
They’ve done a good job of retaining red/yellow saturation in torfinn ‘s midnight in lapland II, which I know from experience is hard work in sRGB on paper. What I do notice is that the card of davep ’s Monochrome Fen has just right sharpness on the card, while it looks deceptively over-sharp in both normal and large views on the web. Hmmm, that’s one to bear in mind.
