Unsensored07 is an exciting upcoming independent exhibition organised and run by a small group of photographic artists who practice and value work with film in this day of digital conveniences.

The exhibition will feature 12 artists (I am one), all with a very distinct style and will take place between 26th October and 10th November at Kerala Gallery in Melbourne, Australia.

What makes this show quite distinct is the fact that all works are on film
- considered a dying (if not dead) art form that carries a lot more spirit and tradition and has certain genuinity to it.

More importantly, is what this means on a social / environmental / cultural parallel that is really important.

Happy Times ahead

Just plonked a few new images up for the pleasure of your eyeballs…

Seems it is all going on:

Folio presentation tonight – looks pretty all dressed up in its new jacket, can’t wait to see everyones up on the walls.

Entered a photograph in to an exhibition – it has been accepted and will be on show for a couple of weeks in Melbourne town- my first exhibition – YAY!

Happy Times indeed!

Semester one is done!

Yay! Randomramble ahead…

Folio is in being printed – no more stress – 4 weeks to focus on anything BUT the folio. A few new RB images to come ….

Time will be found to shoot with the Yashica that I am borrowing – nothing better than a new toy to give new inspiration!

Cards are interesting – good to see a few things happening in RB world…Love the idea of canvas too

Moving on to Black and White next semester.. let the fun begin.

End of ramble

It rains

As much as I am loving the much needed rain in Melbourne town – a sun shower (or even sun storm) would be great.
The gloominess that surrounds me out the window is making me crazy.

Keep it wet – but shine the light….before I lose all inspiration

Lost Colours

I have noticed with the last few images I have uploaded that
I am losing a lot of colour, saturation and over all oomf
in my shots when I view them in my Portfolio.

This is worrying for me because I don’t think my shots are getting
reflected correctly in my portfolio…

Trading places

Shall I swap my car for a new camera?

I thought my decision was made on what camera to get- but events of the last week have changed many things, and to swap something I don’t need for something I would love might be the way to go.

I will make my final decision on Tuesday – today I will do some maths and investigation .. look out shops here I come!

Where is the water

I have really noticed the harshness of the land over the last couple of weeks.
Visiting central Victoria – there was hardly any green to be seen.

Over Easter the coast was a little greener but there was still a lot of evidence of the drought – with Erskine falls (Lorne) almost only a trickle.

I hope it rains soon – let the rain colour my world.

Seeing the world differently

5 weeks in and i feel like I am seeing the world differently…

Is it that my eyes are more open or am I just more aware of what is around me? A bit of both I expect.

It is an enjoyable experience so far – although I am not all that happy with my images. I can see changes in my shots and my thought process is far different than only 4 weeks ago.

It certainly is interesting

Outside the comfort zone

I am being pushed – and yet pushing myself at the same time.

The rules are …
100 ISO only!
No more auto white balance
No Chimping and
compose the shot first (no zooming in and out to get the shot)

I am sure it will be ok after a couple of weeks and I can certainly see the benefit. . . just seems mighty daunting now.

Are we relying on the digital age we are in to much?

Well this looks like fun.

just spent a fair amount of time (read too long) uploading some shots.

Looking forward to seeing some of the great work on here – can imagine many an hour gone wading through the Bubble.

interesting days ahead
