Andrei Belinksii photography website

Hello again,…

Andrei is my former site director from the Russian Klin Yar excavations, and a good friend. Here are some of his thoughts on photography:

“We constantly look into the world with empty eyes, paying attention solely to our own thoughts about common and everyday concerns, thus putting the magical world around to the background of one’s existence. At times when you manage to get out of this flow of time, you start to look anew at faces of people and animals, light and shadow, colours and structures. Those things that remind you of your childhood when everything was new and fresh. I call this an emergence of the Vision. Photography then becomes a part of your world view, even a part of your life that for a long time you managed to go without. It becomes an available tool and a mea

Facebook page

Hi … I know the site is not to everyone’s taste, but I have a Faceache … sorry, Facebook … page which is secure and for friends and family only. If you feel inclined and are on FB it’d be great to see you there, if not, then here is just fine too. After initial privacy concerns with FB I’ve been running the page, dedicated to art and photography, for well over a couple of months now and have experienced nothing of an adverse nature (apart from annoying site updates once in a while).

J’s Facebook page

Anyway, maybe see you there. Just click the (stupid – this is one other thing that irritates me) ‘fan’ button and that’s it.

Best wishes,

J

Infringement of copyright and unsolicited use of images

Hi there,

my journal is getting bigger. I never usually write in these sort of things but this is important ..

There are a couple of reverse image search programmes which can help you track your images to see if/where they are being used on the net. I don’t know how effective they are at policing the use of images by others but it’s better than nothing. These were posted by a guy named Martin on the GCU forum. I think it’s a good idea to pass them around.

It’s probably not the full answer to the problem but any little helps.

Some thoughts about viewing art and images

Thanks for taking time to check out some of my photography and art! I’ll be adding more works as time goes by and I hope you’ll find something you like. Just some thoughts ……

A lot of sites, I’m finding, ask for art or photos to be put into categories. Sometimes this works sometimes it doesn’t and I feel I have to force the images to be something they may not be at times – the images mean different things to me depending on situation, mood, thoughts etc … it’s ever changing. I’d rather the viewer let the images speak for themselves, and create independent feelings or thoughts within, rather than me trying to define them via a list name.

If anyone would like to purchase a card or print that’s great, and very much appreciated, and I really don’t mind if you apply your own meaning or message
