South Florida based documentary photographer Frances Bukovsky received a Bachelors of Fine Arts with Honors in Photography and Imaging from Ringling College of Art and Design in 2018, but has been exploring relationships and every day moments through the camera since 2009 when her parents gave her a point and shoot camera.
Through images of her and her family’s experience of chronic illness, much of her work raises awareness for diseases such as endometriosis, arthritis, and fibromyalgia. Her work has been featured on Aint-Bad.com, Light Leaked, and Creative Quarterly. She is currently working in two main bodies of work, one following her path through diagnosis and treatment of endometriosis, and one encompassing her family’s ongoing battle with autoimmune disease.
