Showin' Some Love

Allow me to preface this by saying some of you know me extremely well; some of you know me only by name. And I’m about to give you all the opportunity to know me a bit more. It will come as a great shock to many of you what I’m about to reveal; some of you will smile to yourself, shake your head and take it in stride. Others will fight the urge to run and possibly condemn me. I’m okay with that. So, here goes….…

I adore the Jonas Brothers.
You will now have a three second pause to pick yourselves up off the floor.

Okay. Sit down and get comfy because you’re about to get a good ol’ fashioned education that could very well turn into a tongue lashing a la Lorie style.

No, I am not a fan of most pop music nor am I the intended audience for this band that has become the biggest pop sensation

YOU Can Help Save an Elephant!!! Just vote.

Can you take ten seconds to vote in an L.A. Times poll for Billy?

The L.A. Times wants to know whether the elephant Billy should remain at the L.A. Zoo, or go to a sanctuary. We want Billy to go to a sanctuary, and would appreciate if you could take a few seconds to visit this website and vote.

Scroll to the bottom of the story. Where you see this question:
Do you agree with Jack Hanna that Billy the elephant should remain at the L.A. Zoo?

Please vote No:
No — it’s inhumane to keep elephants in zoos and Billy should go to a sanctuary

By the way, it appears that you CAN vote multiple times!

Thank you!

Top 10 Ways to Save Money on Vet Care

[taken from the ASPCA website]

As responsible pet owners, we agree to care for our furry friends in sickness and in health. But as the economy softens and veterinary costs rise, how do we do what’s best for our pet?

To help you navigate these troubled economic waters, Dr. Louise Murray, author of Vet Confidential and Director of Medicine at the ASPCA’s Bergh Memorial Animal Hospital, and Dr. Stephen Zawistowski, ASPCA Executive Vice President and Science Advisor, offer the following tips to help you save money on your pet’s health care.

Schedule Regular Check-Ups
Remember the saying, “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure?” Well, it applies to pets, too. Don’t skip your pet’s yearly exam. It’s much more expensive—and risky—to treat illnesses than to protect against them.

Hershey has a ruptured eardrum... all sales are for her!

Yes, my beloved baby girl has a very painful eardrum rupture and will have to be on meds for the next 3 weeks. We just got back from the vet and will have to take her again next Monday. I love her to pieces – she’s my baby girl – I’d do anything for her. This is expensive though. So… all proceeds from our sales for the time being will be going toward taking care of her. That includes all sales here, on Zazzle and on Greeting Card Universe as well. We hope that you all will consider doing some of your Christmas shopping with Hershey’s well-being in mind. :)…

For those of you who don’t know Hershey, she’s one of our 4 kitties. We’ve had her for 8 years – since she was just a baby. When we brought her home she was so covered in fleas we thought she was grey. It took 3 baths to find
