On the move ... and a great big thank you!!!

Some of you may have figured that I’ve been a little quiet of late … especially considering that there have been so many visits to my portfolio here. I’ve been blessed and honoured with features and kind and encouraging comments in abundance ……

I’ve not intended to be disrespectful of the kindness and support and encouragement … the friendship that has been shown me and so generously extended … … it’s simply that I’ve been on the move :) Not physically as such … I’ve moved my profile … There have been a variety of factors that have contributed to the decision … several things that have lead up to this … it’s all good … but a move and a transition can sometimes be a little bumpy …

So I want to thank you all of you … for the kindness, good spirit and support shown in the time I have been in

photographer's rights

Seeing that I was enjoying a spot of candid photography recently, I was asked whether for example I’d had a model release form signed by the young couple in this shot for instance … I had not and I was of the impression that there was no need for concern in this instance either …
Anyhow, I realised that I need to do a bit more research! Really!!
I haven’t gotten to doing so yet, but was delighted when I got my DPS newsletter today, and it had a piece on photographer’s rights – a guest post by Elizabeth Halford
I was even more delighted when I realised that there were links included to quick guides, written up by Simon Moran
The quick Guides can be downloaded as PDF’s here
Most useful!!…

Besides the UK photographers’ rights guide v2, he’s also got links to the USA photographers’ rights guide

Professional Wedding Albums - info request

So I recently seconded at Liz & Steve’s Wedding. I was chatting to them just now and they were asking me who I know in the UK who does traditional professional wedding albums. Their main photographer referred them to a site and asked that they chose an album from there, chose 20 pics that they’d like in the album & he’ll have it put together (part of the package) … but they were looking for a slightly broader variety of album designs / covers etc. The site he’s referred them to I’d come across before, but I must admit that I’m not actually sure who the market players are. I was hoping that you guys might have some suggestions? Any pointers / tips would be greatly appreciated indeed!…

Thanks so much

~ Tina

Had something happen the other day which made me cringe!!…

I e-mailed a friend of mine a link to someone’s profile ‘cause I really loved the work. My friend is not a photographer. He was very enthusiastic about hte work and the images and later told me he’d set one of the images as his desktop background. My heart sank, I panicked and freaked! What the hell!! How can he be copying images! He shouldn’t do it in the first place, but it was innocent actually. So I went and checked whether my stuff can be copied.
It can! Easily. Shift print screen. Right click & copy … whichever way you please – all possible!! And I’ve selected my settings as per below:
