A MESSAGE OF LOVE

Well I have finally written my Will! Sorry to sound gloomy but I think it’s important to do these things. Once I got started it was quite easy to do. But it got me thinking. So I wrote this to be read out at my departing, so (hopefully) give comfort to my family:…

“TO MY ALL BELOVEDS
To those of you who are left, remember this:
I loved you
I still love you
I shall always love you
I LOVE YOU.
It doesn’t stop – ever
Even though I am not there physically with you
I still exist
I am here
Even though you can’t see me
Have faith

I know this is a sad time for you.
Cry if you want to, don’t fight it.
I will see you again
Please have faith in this

I am sure that I will be in a beautiful place
It’s a lovely garden full of brightly coloured flowers
Pinks and blues and mauves and yellows: my favourites

AM GOBSMACKED!

Have just come on here to discover that I have sold 7 gorilla greetings cards! WOW. Whoever it was, THANK YOU so very much.

Also, Gorilla Haven have sold 7 calendars today of their gorilla calender which will raise money for gorillas. I am proud to say that some of my work is part of that calendar.

It makes my heart sing to know that someone will get pleasure from my work. It gladdens me to share what I love – taking photos of beautiful, wonderful primates. Thank you.

The cards are of: Benito, So Moving, Julie’s Girl, Power at Rest and Reprieved.

PLEASE LOOK AT THIS

Hi all.

Well a few weeks ago my dear Lilly cat passed away very suddenly and it was such a terrible shock. So I wanted to pay a fitting tribute to a beautiful cat. I contacted Holleyarna on Redbubble and commissioned her to paint two portraits of Lilly. I’m sure you will agree that she has done a wonderful job. Please see Tiger Lilly and also Lilly on her Carpet

WOW! SECOND FEATURE ON HOMEPAGE

Wow! Mountain Gorilla was featured on the homepage (and I missed it). Was on here last night, no feature. Got back today teatime and found I had missed it. Oh well…

I have now put this pic up again but larger :)

HELP NEEDED WITH POWERPOINT!

Hi all

I am presenting my first talk on the primates of Cameroon on Friday and am desperately tring to get to grips with powerpoint 2003. I have no text, just photos.

Now some of my pics are the right size (from the preview) but some are too small and some way too big. Can anyone please tell me how to resize so they are all the optimum size for a powerpoint presentation?

Thanks in advance

A LOVELY DAY

Hello all. Just to tell you all what a great day I had yesterday. Martin and I picked up my Dad who lives in Bristol and he took us out to Slimbridge , which is a wonderful place to see wild birds (and also their resident flamingos).…

We had a lovely time, the weather was very warm and it was wonderful getting up close and personal with so many beautiful birds. One of the best things was getting really close to nesting birds and also mother birds with their little fluffy babies. A real wonder and a privilege.

From what I can tell, I have captured some amazing shots, which I can’t wait to share with you all. So watch this space.

We also bumped into another redbubbler, Glyn, which was great. So nice to see him.

The day just confirmed to me how wonderful it is to be behind the camera, taking

MY OWN PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITION!

Hi all. Am very excited as a local arts centre have agreed to put on an exhibition of my photographs. I am also going to launch it with a talk about my experiences working with the rescued primates in Cameroon :)

LONELY?

I know the main purpose of being on here is to share and that’s wonderful :) Most of you people I have never met but I LOVE you! xx So thank you for your friendship and lovely kind words. However, I know lots of people have mentioned a glitch in the watchlists, etc, so that means that lots of stuff isn’t coming through. Which makes for a lonely existence at times. And I know what joy is shared by some of you (and vice versa my friends) when you see my new work. And it makes me sad that stuff isn’t coming through to lots of people. And so I feel a bit lonely at times. I know I should get out there and physically make an effort to click on my watchlist people and go into their work, in case it isn’t showing up, and that is what I intend to do.

HOW DO I GET RID OF UNWANTED REDBUBBLE EMAILS?

I recently started getting an email telling me when I have received a bubblemail. This is MOST unwelcome. It invites me to click on a link to stop it happening but the link doesn’t work. Since the site has been revamped I can’t seem to find out how you get on a discussion forum and to actually start a discussion. If I could do this then I could perhaps find out how to stop these unwelcome emails. Can anyone help? Thanks :)

T-SHIRT TROUBLES

Sigh. After over a year since last trying decided to upload a t-shirt design. After several attempts I resized to the correct dimensions – 2400 × 3200 – but it keeps telling me the size isn’t right! Honestly, it is soo frustrating. Yesterday I went on another well known sight and produced a t-shirt and had it up for sale within 5 mins – they didn’t need exact dimensions, sizes or anything! Why can’t the t-shirt software on here be more user friendly?

ALPHABETICAL LISTINGS PLEASE! :)

I don’t know about you but I am a member of lots of groups on the bubble. But when I am selecting a picture for groups it takes me AGES to go through my list, then I get confused and cant find a group! I would love it if redbubble made our own list of groups alphabetical – it would save lots of headaches! :)

HOW DO YOU MAKE A LINK?

Hi all – how do you make a link to another person on here or to a website? (you know – when someone says, “click here…”)?

Thanks
Jane

ps please make it simple for a techno thickie …

I HAVE LOST SOMETHING AND IT'S REALLY PUZZLING...

Hi all, well you won’t believe this! I put up a pic earlier today: Romina. And now I can’t find it! People are still commenting on it but it has gone from my “art” list. So I put it up again. People have commented on the new one, but I am still receiving comments re the old one! (Please tell me I am not going mad…)

ANOTHER QUESTION FOR YOU: CROPPING

Well I must say a big THANK YOU to all you helpful people who advised me regarding making pictures larger. I think I understand, and I think it wasn’t going quite to plan as my crops weren’t the correct ratio, if you see what I mean. (I just go by eye). Does anyone know how to crop an image so that it creates the correct ratio for a large image? I’m not sure what the ratio should be, but hopefully you understand what I;m getting at?

Thanks
Jane

I AM SO EXCITED AND CAN'T WAIT!

I recently returned from Cameroon where I looked after rescued primates – monkeys, gorillas and chimps. I loved the animals so much. However, some of the people weren’t very nice to me. So I returned early.

I didn’t want it to put me off though and have decided to “get back on the bicycle” and have just booked my place looking after elephants in Thailand next year! I am so excited – I can’t wait!

At the end of this year Martin and I are holidaying in India and I am so excited about that too as we will see monkeys and elephants and will even get the chance to bath an elephant. So that will be good training for Thailand!

CONSTANT WONDERS

Do you have something in your life which constantly amazes you and gives you joy? Well one of my “constant wonders” is my digital SLR. Every time I pick it up and use it it makes me so happy and glad that I bought it.

I remember the days of using film and SLRs, you never knew if the film had threaded on and you certainly didn’t know what you were taking! And then there were the dangers of the back opening and losing everything altogether.

Oh the joy, the constant, unutterable and unending joy of seeing in that little screen the picture that you have just captured! I still think it’s a miracle.

And all those delicious lenses too, the wonder (and struggle) of macro, the fantastic advantages of zoom lenses which bring it all closer, especially animals and birds – I love it!

WHY DO THE GOOD SUFFER?

My dear Mum is 68 and has been mentally ill for the past 11 years. (Please see my writing “Mum” if interested.)…

Mum was a lively, funny, raucous and vivacious lady before she became ill. She was my rock and my comfort and my joy.

She has been in a home for the past year and it has been quite difficult as they were quite neglectful at times. Not maliciously, but in a sloppy way. You know: not washing Mum’s hair regularly, forgetting her needs, etc. Anyway in November she suffered a stroke and my sister Annie and I thought she was going to die. She spent about 6 weeks in hospital and during that time we both fought to keep her alive, by literally spoon feeding her untill she regained her strength as the nurses didn’t have the time to do this.

Eventually we were thrilled to get Mum into a nu

WHICH LENS SHALL I USE?

Hi all

Some of us Redbubblers are meeting at the zoo tomorrow. The weather here is TERRIBLE so I think we will spend most of the time indoors. Last time I went there were some very tiny tree frogs behind glass, very very small. Do you think I should use one of these two lenses to photograph them?

Nikkor 60mm 60 F/2.8 D Macro

or Nikon 105mm f/2.8G AF-S VR Micro-Nikkor lens macro

HELP NEEDED TO ACCESS NIKON D50 CUSTOM SETTINGS

Can you help? I can’t access the custom settings menu. I can get to the pencil icon, but can’t do anything from there to access the full menu. I press the enter button and nothing happens. Basically I can get to the pencil, but some of the options are greyed out, such as 2 and 3. How do I ungrey the options?

Thanks

WOO HOO! FEATURES!

THANK YOU :)

Well Redbubblers, you’ve done it again:) Made me smile and cheered me up and made me feel special :)

Just come back from Africa after having a difficult time and also facing some challenges here too.

Your comments on my work, your bubblemails and your little acts of kindness and encouragement mean so much to me, thank you so very much.

Happy New Year and let’s create some awe-inspiring work!
