Well, I keep learning things these last few days. Been a bit painful, bit of a struggle, all this technology. But I have learnt (until I forget how again) how to upload my photos into the computer. May sound like a doddle to most of you, but Martin is very precise and logical and a clever bunny. And cos of this we need to name the file and put it in the right place. I am so pleased, am getting there with this aspect of technology too.

Another Very Positive Thing, I think you’ll agree…

Well, as some may know, I have recently bought some new equipment – a macro lens and tripods. Me and Martin have been having a devil of a job with it all – until Martin realised that the camera was somehow set to let in 5 times the amount of light it was set to! We had it at f32 as well! Anyway, the long and the short of it is that I have spent some of today setting up the new equipment and taking shots. Mainly of my models, which I need to photograph for my website. I sometimes teach kids how to make models, so I need some pics to illustrate this point. Of course this is going to be a steep learning curve, but it is quite exciting. Last night I felt dispair with it all as nothing seemed to work properly and we also didn’t understand that the lens has to be kept on f32 on the focus ring (…

Well, now I have discovered something else new in the world of creativity via Redbubble. Been finding out about the world of fractals and have downloaded some software to play with. I hope I get on ok, another thing I want to learn about is photoshop and editing, have NO idea about any of it!

Well it’s all so exciting, a new lens, a new technique and some nice people who give me their advice. Thanks all!

1,000 VIEWS IN 11 DAYS!

Wow, I am so thrilled – I joined Redbubble only 11 days ago and I have had 1,000 views! Thank you all so much. It is wonderful to be able to share my photos with other people globally. Something which has given me years of pleasure is now making other people happy too, judging from your feedback. Thank you

Well, seeing as there’s so much going on here I have been inspired to add some of my original artwork (from a long time ago!) and also I would like to design a t-shirt. It’s great that you can do all these things on here. But I probably won’t be able to put any stuff up yet as I am awaiting the arrival of my new baby – my Nikon macro lens…

Well, I am utterly thrilled and humbled that someone nominated me today for artist of the month for African Art and Writings. Thank you so much x

I have applied to join Sunrise Sunset. Some of their images are beautiful. Can’t wait to add my own pics. Colourful sunsets touch my soul. Wonderful colours and inspiring light – superb.

Well, after much discussion and helpful advice from some of the Redbubble members, have ordered a macro lens! It is a Nikkor 60mm 60 F/2.8 D Macro. Am very excited, wonder if it will come before Christmas. Thank you everyone who helped me with their suggestions. I am looking forward to photographing insects (esp butterflies in the summer) and flowers. Also, sometimes I teach children model making and their work is always difficult to photograph as it is so small, so hopefully this lens will help?

Also excited cos my new Fat Cat website is being developed and over Christmas me and my boyfriend will be making little films of my puppets to put on the site! Wish me luck!

Well, I joined the site a few days ago and the response has been fantastic. It is wonderful to meet so many like-minded people who are also very kind and generous with their comments. For 2 nights I couldn’t sleep because of the heady excitement of it all! It is so wonderful to be able to share my photos with others. It is such a passion of mine. Thank you.
