Artist's Description

I was photographing in Secret Canyon (a slot canyon) outside Page, Arizona over Halloween a few years back when I stumbled upon this dead desert scrub brush laying on the floor of the narrow slot canyon. I dragged it inside the canyon until a proper resting place was found.. It was placed there to captured in all its natural light. I used a Nikon D2x, 17-35mm, Giottos CF tripod, I had to use a long exposure several seconds, maybe 10-20 do to the natural lighting available. Nikon Shutter release ML-3
Secret Canyon is the lesser known, lesser traveled Slot Canyon when compared to Antelope Canyon which sees upwards of 100 people per day. Secret Canyon has a strict limit of 8 including the drivers. This is much nice in my opinion than Antelope Canyon which is over commercialized. Beside the slot canyons, there is Lake Powell and the eastern tip of the Grand Canyon. Not far is Horseshoe Bend and Vermilion Cliffs.
