Black History Month Poem 2008

U.S as people with bright intelligent minds tend to contemplate the past.
a great example of inspiration comes from a woman who refused to give
up her seat on a bus ending up behind bars. Her prominent actions sparked many peoples attention over the years, this event gave motivation to create new
laws that equalize everyone’s rights and diminish segregation. The outcome
of this effect brought diversity to today’s society. Our enhanced civilization has banned Jim Crow Laws, and is currently fighting the constant issues of racism we
struggle with day by day, so lets take a moment to thank Martin Luther King, lets take a moment to thank Harriet Tubman, lets take a moment to thank every person who has stood up for the rights of an African American. Rosa Parks passed away at
the age of 92, but her legacy lives on.
