Artist's Description

Third of a tryptych. There seems to be a lot more of them, same as the others.

It could be a metaphor of the current, unprecedented social movement seen in many places around the world. Where are they coming from, and why do they want to be here?

An ‘into the sun’ shot of the ‘in situ’ work by Anthony Gormley, entitled Another Place. Each of the 100 lifesize, identical, cast iron statues was modelled by the artist encasing himself in a mould. They add ‘another world’ element to the Mersey Estuary Beach at Crosby, England and are reminiscent of the characters in HG Wells’ War of the Worlds.
