Artist's Description

I was inspired to used the bell jar as a reference to Sylvia Plath’s novel as well as the digital art piece done by Samo Shaver in his composition, “Smoke on the Water.” The rest of the piece is symbolic for my life fears and such a making important decisions; therefore I incorporated two contrasting backgrounds a farmer, open field landscape and New York skyline.
The first of the technical requirement I used was the layer mask. I used one on my Lightning layer, which I used gradient on and the second layer mask was on the Skyline layer that I also used a gradient on. The gradients provided my sky with a more dramatic look to add to the chaos of the storm and the skyline was the contrasting part to my farm landscape.
