The Woman Caught in Adultery
Watercolor and ink on Arches cotton rag, measuring approximately 9.5"x10".
This is based on a story in the bible of a woman caught in the act of adultery by the religious establishment. They want to stone her. She looks "off-screen" towards someone who she hopes will help her.
I wanted to contrast her color and softness with the hardness of the authorities and their structures.
