The Riley Building

Taken with a Canon Powershot A95 The Riley Building is located at 1016 Douglas Street in downtown Omaha across from the Gene Leahy Mall. It is known for the old advertisements painted on the west side of the building. Built in 1889, the building is named for A.K. Riley, a lawyer and real estate investor who wanted a warehouse/storefront near Jobbers Canyon. The building included the first hydraulic-powered freight elevator in Omaha.
