Gerasimos the Cat
Gerasimos the Cat (AKA Wathimoth) was found as a tiny sick kitten and the vet didn't give much hope of his survival. One night I lay him down below the icon of St Gerasimos of the Jordan and asked him to look after this little lion, as he had looked after his own. I didn't expect him to make it through the night. But the next morning his fever had dropped and we went on to make a full recovery, so I named him Gerasimos (pronounced Yerasimos in Greek) but that was a very formal name for a tiny floor so it morphed into Yewathimoth, Wathimoth for short. His two greatest obsessions are prayer ropes and antidoron.
