Lawrence of Arabia on his beloved Brough
Featuring enigmatic, bike loving legend T.E Lawrence (aka Lawrence of Arabia) on his prized 'Brough'. Commemorating over a century since the influential and inspiring role he played in orchestrating and mobilised Arab Forces against the Ottoman/Turks/Germans in the Middle East during WW1. Lawrence is known for guerrilla tactics in WW1 and his great writings. His ‘Seven Pillars of Wisdom – a Triumph' book is said to rank amongst the best books ever written in the English language. Lawrence died at the age of 46 (in 1935), from head injuries incurred in a motorcycle accident in Dorset. Australian neurosurgeon Hugh Cairns who treated Lawrence after the accident was profoundly affected by the needless loss of the motorcyclists life and was instumental in canvassing for crash helmets to be worn by dispatch riders during WW2 – saving countless lives. Each 'Brough' was hand crafted and known as the Rolls Royce of motorbikes. His SS100 model was tested to reach 100mph prior to delivery.
