GOD IS GOOD
Hopefully, everyone has experienced the goodness of God, Holy Spirit, Jesus and perhaps other spirits from the Kingdom of Heaven, such as during worship, prayer, laying on of hands, being anointed or baptized. If not, please seek this out because experiencing the goodness of God in these ways are extremely important for receiving blessings of guidance, healing and empowerment, as well as developing your spiritual relationship with the Kingdom of Heaven.
Teaching:
There is a common Christian teaching that God is in control and wants good things for you [Jeremiah 29:11; Isaiah 41:10; John 12:24]. Although many believe this is true, there is some disagreement as to what is good.
If God makes a person rich and powerful, does that make God good? If God makes a person beautiful and charming, does this make God good? If these people work to make the world a better place, then in humility (God ways are sometimes beyond my comprehension), I would say yes. If they spoil themselves, do harm to others and ignore the things of this world that need their help, then I would say no.
If God makes a person's life hard, giving them temptations and tribulations to the point of near mind-body-spirit exhaustion, would you say God is not good? If you are familiar with the Narrow Gate teaching [Matthew 7:14], then you might already know where I am going with this.
Jesus said to take the narrow road to the narrow gate so to enter heaven. Narrow is better translated as affliction or being hard-pressed; take the hard-pressing road and enter through the gate of affliction into Heaven. Is this saying God wants you to suffer? No! God wants you to strengthen your virtues of consciousness [Philippians 4:8; Psalms 21:3; Ephesians 4:31(antivirtues)-32], such as patience, compassion, humility and more. Why is because these are the only treasures you as a soul can take when you leave your body at death [Matthew 6:19-21].
Note: Many spiritual teachings, the scientific investigation of Near Death Experiences, and Hypnotism to remember life between life (FYI. Reincarnation is now a well confirmed scientific fact), agree that in part, incarnation is for the purpose of developing the virtues of consciousness.
So, if God afflicts you, does that make God good? If the affliction overwhelms you and you become an addict or consistently hurt yourself and others (accidents happens – confess and be forgiving to yourself [1 John 1:9 ] and others [Luke 17:3-4]), then again with humility, I would say no. Note: God is not likely to give you more than you can handle, but nature might. If you overcome the challenges and become more compassionate, graceful, patient, loving and virtuous/righteous in other ways, then I would say yes. Consider affliction weight-lifting for your soul.
Use these products to remind yourself and others that God's Love is unconditional and sometimes beyond what we can comprehend.
Endnote:
Developing virtues is not always a pleasant experience, so consider this: your life is a very small moment for your immortal soul [Matthew 10:28; Romans 6:23]. I said "not always" because virtues can be developed by education as well as being concerned and involved with the tribulations in other people's lives [Matthew 16:24-26; Phillipians 2:4; Probverbs 28:27; Hebrews 13:16; Act 20:35].
