Endangered animals of Australia - Bilby, (Macrotis lagotis)
The Bilby is a desert-dwelling marsupial that is thought to have inhabited Australia for approximately 15 million years. They are nocturnal, and they use their long noses to dig up bulbs, termites and grubs. They also eat spiders, fruit, and seeds. With its blue-gray fur and large pinkish ears it is easy to see why the Bilby is Australia’s answer to the Easter bunny. Besides being absolutely adorable, this Bilby design is intended to draw attention to and encourage support for protecting endangered animals, in Australia and elsewhere.
