The Artist
Rosa is a student at the Centro Explorativo. The Centro Explorativo is a community led educational endeavor which aims to empower rural Guatemalan communities by providing greater access to learning resources and opportunities. Part of your purchase will go to support the children at the Centro Explorativo, providing access to learning tools including books, computers, and afterschool enrichment courses.

The Cause
On June 3rd, 2018, Volcán de Fuego had its most deadly eruption since 1902, leaving over 100 dead and over 800 injured in the communities of el Rodeo and la Reunión. Cities such as Antigua and Guatemala City have been covered in volcanic ash, which led to the temporary closure of Guatemala City’s La Aurora International Airport. Furthermore, rescue missions have been obstructed due to road damage and ongoing volcanic eruptions. 80% of donations from sales will be spent directly on supplies for Volcano Relief efforts via a partnership with two local Guatemalan organizations, Soluciones Comunitarias and their community partner Regala una Sonrisa, and 20% to support the Centro Explorativo in La Pista, Guatemala, where the initiative for this fundraiser and the art were created. El Centro Explorativo es un esfuerzo educativo dirigido por la comunidad que se enfoca en capacitando comunidades rurales de Guatemala a través de proveer mejor acceso a oportunidades y recursos de aprendizaje. Parte del dinero de su compra apoyará a los niños del Centro Explorativo, que da acceso a esencial herramientas para aprendizaje incluyendo libros, computadores, y cursos de enriquecimiento.

La Causa
El 3 de junio, 2018, el Volcán de Fuego eruptó. Fue la erupción más fatal desde la erupción de 1902, dejando más de 100 personas fallecidas y más de 800 personas heridas en las comunidades del Rodeo y la Reunión. Las ciudades de Antigua y Guatemala están cubiertas en ceniza volcánica, y a causó de esto han cerrado el Aeropuerto Internacional La Aurora.
