Seeking Reprieve Beyond the Cobwebs
Part of my "Disturbed Grunge" series. This hole-in-a-door led into a greenhouse, located on the grounds of the Callan Hospital for the Insane (now known as the Rozelle Hospital). I thought the shallow depth of field was a great way to capture this scene. You can only really make out the cobweb in the hole. Patients could see a bit more, but I wonder if they were allowed into the greenhouse where they might seek reprieve, or if it was off limits. Captured in Lilyfield, NSW, Australia in October 2010.
