Országház
The Hungarian Parliament Building (Hungarian: Országház, which translates to House of the Country or House of the Nation) is the seat of the National Assembly of Hungary, one of Europe's oldest legislative buildings, a notable landmark of Hungary and a popular tourist destination of Budapest. It lies in Lajos Kossuth Square, on the bank of the Danube. It is currently the largest building in Hungary and still the tallest building in Budapest.

They were doing quite a lot of work on and around the building when I was there shooting this (June 2013). The Danube was also still quite high after flooding during spring runoff, The park on the east side of the building was all torn up because they were installing an underground parking structure. Many of the trees in the old park (of which I shot during the winter several years before: see here) were no longer there and the south entrance facade was being worked on and covered with scaffolding. It is also impossible to get a straight-on shot at the building from this angle because there is now a floating restaurant (one of many more along both sides of the river now) tied to the bank of this side of the Danube. Yet, I had IR film in the camera and the sky begged me to take this shot as I walked by that day. It truly is an amazing building to see.
