Holographic Whisper

I was looking at all my redbubble sales today…I’ve sold thousands of stickers, but most of those are just one design - search “weed” and it is the first one that comes up, lol…and I have tons of “weed” stickers that are actually much cooler, in my opinion, but they aren’t anywhere close to the top of the search results, so not many people see them. There are some people who are so discriminating that they scroll down until they find something that is perfect. I saw someone had bought an apron with a design that I love- but has never sold on ANYTHING before. I’ve never sold anything on an apron, either, and I was just so curious about the person that somehow came across my design and thought “this will make a perfect apron”. I seriously love that person - whoever they are, wherever they live on this planet. Another sale I made - before Christmas someone ordered 20 greeting cards with a design I made of 2 reindeer, in my signature vivid colors, another design no one ever sees these are not your grandma’s Christmas cards, but they are so freakin festive. I swear, if I had never laid eyes on the design before, and I walked into a house where that card sat displayed atop the mantle, I would spot it from 30 feet away, and walk straight over to look at it I’d want to know the store that it came from, the artist, AND I’d look inside of the card- whoever sent those out is a badass, I ALREADY KNOW. They didn’t just order the default size, they clicked the drop down menu and instead selected the “large” 5x7 size - and ended up paying almost $4 per card - so that was a big sale for me, but I don’t care about the money, what I really want is to get on their Christmas card list. At the beginning of the pandemic, my mom came to visit and the first thing I said as we were driving to the lake was “redbubble is selling masks, so if you think of something cool or clever to put on a mask, let me know.” WITHOUT MISSING A BEAT, my mom said, “You Didn’t Get It From Me” - I think I said something like “THAT. IS. PERFECT.” My mom is a genius, yes, but I felt like a genius, too, since “the cleverest people are not those who know everything, but those who know where to look for and find any information that is at the moment required.” If I saw a stranger in a crowd wearing a mask that read “You Didn’t Get It From Me” - I would have to go up and find out where they got it - and someone came up to my mom at an airport and did just that…you become a genius too when you buy one or even 1,000 - for an emergency, a pandemic souvenir, a gag gift, for an April fools day prank, or use it send someone a message without saying a word… Go check out my designs. Even if they aren’t really your taste, you probably know someone who is cool in a really colorful way- buy them a sticker or send them a link - And I would argue that anyone who looks at all of my designs doesn’t have to even make a purchase helps not only me, but is helping the community, since any direct visitor to my page, especially one who looks at all the different designs and clicks on one or two “favorites” (you don’t have sign up or sign in to favorite something; thanks for the feedback!) moves my designs a little bit closer the top, making it easier for those wonderful, wonderful people to find what they didn’t even know the were looking for. And if you buy something for yourself or recognize something that would make the perfect gift - even though I won’t know unless you tell me, I think you are a freakin badass…
