Blue Tail
So my whole thought process in making this pattern may have been a lie... I had a memory of when I lived in Florida, 2018 .. frightened when I saw this dark, shiny object, dart across the floor. It was a lizard! For some time, looking back on it, I thought it was a five-lined skink, what I have depicted in this pattern. However, looking back on the video.. I see no blue tail and only two lines stretching his body!! … Alas,, I still might be right after all this time!! The Five-Lined skink’s tail is only blue in youth! A technique to draw predators to their tails, an appendage able to break off, with the lizard still surviving. Becoming adults, it turns reddish-brown. …but I still don’t know for certain.
